Herein, we describe a gold-catalyzed cascade cyclization of Boc-protected benzylamines bearing two tethered alkyne moieties in a domino reaction initiated by a 6-endo-dig cyclization. The reaction was screened intensively, and the scope was explored, resulting in nine new Boc-protected dihydrobenzo[c]phenanthridines with yields of up to 98 %; even a π-extension and two bidirectional approaches were successful. Furthermore, thermal cleavage of the Boc group and subsequent oxidation gave substituted benzo[c]phenanthridines in up to quantitative yields. Two bidirectional approaches under the optimized conditions were successful, and the resulting π-extended molecules were tested as organic semiconductors in organic thin-film transistors. 相似文献

Secondary metabolome mining efforts in the myxobacterial multiproducer of natural products, Chondromyces crocatus Cm c5, resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of crocagins, which are novel polycyclic peptides containing a tetrahydropyrrolo[2,3-b]indole core. The gene cluster was identified through an approach combining genome analysis, targeted gene inactivation in the producer, and in vitro experiments. Based on our findings, we developed a biosynthetic scheme for crocagin biosynthesis. These natural products are formed from the three C-terminal amino acids of a precursor peptide and thus belong to a novel class of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides (RiPPs). We demonstrate that crocagin A binds to the carbon storage regulator protein CsrA, thereby inhibiting the ability of CsrA to bind to its cognate RNA target. 相似文献

In reaction centers (RCs) of photosynthesis, a light‐induced charge separation takes place creating radical cations and anions of the participating cofactors. In photosynthetic bacteria, different bacteriochlorophylls (BChl) are involved in this process. Information about the electronic structure of the BChl radical cations and anions can be obtained by measuring the electron spin density distribution via the electron–nuclear hyperfine interaction using EPR and ENDOR techniques. In this communication, we report isotropic hyperfine coupling constants (hfcs) of the BChl b and g radical cations and anions, calculated by density functional theory, and compare them with the more common radical ions of BChl a and with available experimental data. The observed differences in the computed hyperfine data are discussed in view of a possible distinction between these species by EPR/ENDOR methods. In addition, 14N nuclear quadrupole coupling constants (nqcs) computed for BChl a, b, g, and also for Chl a in their charge neutral, radical cation and radical anion states are presented. These nqcs are compared with experimental values obtained by ESEEM spectroscopy on several different radical ions. 相似文献

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy (PDT), using δ‐aminolevulinic acid (5‐ALA), in the elimination of premalignant cervical lesions in Mexican patients with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and/or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Thirty women diagnosed with CIN I and/or positive for HPV participated in the study. Topical 6% 5‐ALA in gel form was applied to the uterine cervix; after 4 h, the lesion area was irradiated with a light dose of 200 J cm?2 at 635 nm. This procedure was performed three times at 48‐h intervals. Clinical follow‐up was performed at 3, 6, and 12 months after the initial PDT administration, by colposcopy, cervical cytology, histopathological analysis, polymerase chain reaction, and hybrid capture. Of HPV‐infected patients without evidence of CIN I, 80% cleared the infection, while HPV associated with CIN I was eliminated in 83% of patients (P < 0.05). At 12 months, CIN I had regressed in 57% of patients, although this response was not statistically significant. A gas chromatographic headspace analysis method was used to experimentally determine gas-to-liquid partition coefficients and infinite dilution activity dilution for 14 different aliphatic and cyclic hydrocarbons (alkanes, cycloalkanes, alkenes, alkynes), eight different aromatic compounds (benzene, alkylbenzenes, halobenzenes), five different chloroalkanes (dichloromethane, trichloromethane, 1-chlorobutane, 1,2-dichloropropane, isopropylbromide), tetrahydrofuran, butyl acetate, and acetonitrile dissolved in diethylene glycol at 298.15 K. Solubilities were also measured at 298.15 K for 31 crystalline nonelectrolyte organic solutes including several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and substituted benzoic acid derivatives. The experimental results of the headspace chromatographic and spectroscopic solubility measurements were converted to gas-to-diethylene glycol and water-to-diethylene glycol partition coefficients, and molar solubility ratios using standard thermodynamic relationships. Expressions were derived for solute transfer into diethylene glycol from the calculated partition coefficients and solubility ratios. Mathematical correlations based on the Abraham model describe the observed partition coefficient and solubility data to within 0.14 log10 units (or less). 相似文献

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the ability of a bacterial species to resist the action of an antimicrobial drug, has been on the rise due to the widespread use of antimicrobial agents. Per the World Health Organization, AMR has an estimated annual cost of USD 34 billion in the US and is predicted to be the number one cause of death worldwide by 2050. One way AMR bacteria can spread, and by which individuals can contract AMR infections, is through contaminated water. Monitoring AMR bacteria in the environment currently requires that samples be transported to a central laboratory for slow and labor intensive tests. We have developed an inexpensive assay using paper-based analytical devices (PADs) that can test for the presence of β-lactamase-mediated resistance. To demonstrate viability, the PAD was used to detect β-lactam resistance in wastewater and sewage and identified resistance in individual bacterial species isolated from environmental water sources. 相似文献

This paper discusses the influence of different wingtip geometries on the first eigenmodes of wingtip vortices. With the use of Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) of a turbulent velocity field, a modal decomposition of coherent structures, high energetic eigenmodes are determined.
